Dev Log: A Giant Leap in Gameplay & Architecture!

Hello everyone!

We've been hard at work over the past few weeks on a series of massive improvements that transform the gameplay experience and lay the foundation for the project's future. This has been one of our biggest updates to date! Here’s the summary:

A Completely New Progression System

The biggest update is that we have completely decoupled player stats (like health and speed) from cosmetic items.

• Permanent Upgrades: You can now use your hard-earned in-game coins to purchase permanent upgrades for your character at a new shop! Level up your Max Health and Movement Speed to get further in every run. This adds an RPG progression layer that rewards your time in the game.
• Trader NPCs & Economy: To fuel this new system, we've introduced Trader NPCs. These new characters will buy the crystals you collect in your runs in exchange for coins. Each NPC specializes in a different type of crystal!
• Functional Projectiles: "Right Hand" items that you find or buy still determine the type of projectile you shoot, so collecting them remains key to powering up your arsenal!

NFT & Non-NFT Modes: The Best of Both Worlds

We have unified the experience so that no matter how you play, your progress is shared.

• Unified Account: Whether you play with your custom avatar or your NFT, all your achievements, stat upgrades, coins, and crystals are saved to the same player account.
• Non-NFT Mode (Total Customization): Inventory items are now 100% cosmetic. Their function is to let you customize every part of your character to create a unique look and show off your style.
• NFT Mode (Total Exclusivity): If you play with your NFT, your appearance will always be that of your collectible—a unique and exclusive avatar! You will still be able to equip different projectiles from the inventory without this altering the original art of your NFT.

Quality of Life & Architectural Improvements

In addition to the major features, we've done a lot of work "behind the scenes" to improve the experience:

• One-Time Wallet Linking: No more connecting your wallet every session! We've implemented a system that securely links your wallet address to your Firebase account the first time, making future logins instantaneous.
• Visual & Animation Upgrades: We've added new animations for the NPCs, including their full cycle of leaving for and returning from missions. We also implemented a new visual feedback system that notifies you with a small animation every time you receive coins or crystals, making the game feel more alive and satisfying.
• Unified Game Flow: The game's structure is now more robust. We've unified the start into a single scene that dynamically spawns the correct character, improving load times and project maintainability.
• Full Localization: All in-game text is now supported by our localization system (English, Spanish, and Filipino), preparing us for a global audience!

These changes represent a huge step forward. We're very excited about the future of the game and are already working on what's next!

Un Salto Gigante en Jugabilidad y Arquitectura!

¡Hola a todos!

Hemos estado trabajando intensamente durante las últimas semanas en una serie de mejoras masivas que transforman la experiencia de juego y sientan las bases para el futuro del proyecto. ¡Este ha sido uno de nuestros mayores avances hasta la fecha! Aquí está el resumen:

Un Sistema de Progresión Totalmente Nuevo

La mayor actualización es que hemos separado por completo las estadísticas de los ítems cosméticos.

• Mejoras Permanentes: ¡Ahora puedes usar las monedas del juego para comprar mejoras permanentes para tu personaje! Hemos añadido una nueva tienda donde podrás subir de nivel tu Vida Máxima y Velocidad de Movimiento. Esto añade una capa de progresión RPG que recompensa tu tiempo en el juego.
• NPCs Comerciantes y Economía: Para alimentar este nuevo sistema, hemos introducido a los NPCs Comerciantes. Estos personajes te comprarán los cristales que recojas en tus partidas a cambio de monedas. ¡Cada NPC se especializa en un tipo de cristal!
• Proyectiles Funcionales: Los ítems de "Mano Derecha" que encuentras o compras siguen determinando el tipo de proyectil que disparas, ¡así que coleccionarlos sigue siendo clave para potenciar tu arsenal!

Modo NFT y No-NFT: Lo Mejor de Ambos Mundos

Hemos unificado la experiencia para que, sin importar cómo juegues, tu progreso sea el mismo.

• Cuenta Unificada: Ya sea que juegues con tu avatar personalizado o con un NFT, todos tus logros, mejoras de estadísticas, monedas y cristales se guardan en la misma cuenta de jugador.
• Modo No-NFT (Personalización Total): Los ítems de inventario ahora son 100% cosméticos. Su función es permitirte personalizar cada parte de tu personaje para crear un look único y demostrar tu estilo.
• Modo NFT (Exclusividad Total): Si juegas con tu NFT, tu apariencia será siempre la de tu coleccionable, ¡un avatar único y exclusivo! Aún podrás equipar diferentes proyectiles desde el inventario sin que esto altere el arte original de tu NFT.

Mejoras de Calidad de Vida y Arquitectura

Además de las grandes funcionalidades, hemos trabajado mucho "tras bambalinas" para mejorar la experiencia:

• Vínculo de Wallet Único: ¡Se acabó el tener que conectar tu wallet en cada sesión! Hemos implementado un sistema que vincula de forma segura tu dirección de wallet a tu cuenta de Firebase la primera vez, para que en futuros inicios de sesión el acceso sea instantáneo.
• Mejoras Visuales y de Animación: Hemos añadido nuevas animaciones para los NPCs, incluyendo su ciclo de ida y vuelta para las misiones. También implementamos un nuevo sistema de feedback visual que te notifica con una pequeña animación cada vez que recibes monedas o cristales.
• Flujo de Juego Unificado: La estructura del juego es ahora más robusta. Hemos unificado el inicio en una única escena que instancia dinámicamente al personaje correcto, mejorando los tiempos de carga y la mantenibilidad del proyecto.
• Localización Completa: Todo el texto del juego ahora es compatible con nuestro sistema de localización (inglés, español y filipino), ¡preparándonos para una audiencia global!

Estos cambios representan un gran paso adelante. ¡Estamos muy emocionados por el futuro del juego y seguimos trabajando en lo que vendrá!
